Yep, it's that time again. You know what to do, what new car would you get for 41k?
For me it's the Regal GS AWD
Fully loaded, AWD sporty sedan for $40,646. Plus it looks great.
So what would you get?
EDIT: I'm having second thoughts, I think I might go for a Charger R/T 100th Anniversary Edition.
RWD, V8 goodness. Fully loaded at $35,480, so I have monies left over for Mopar catalog shopping. And the High Octane Red paint looks great.

What about the Dinan upgrades bro? You gotta get those bro!

A base 428i comes in at $40,500.
Honestly, though, this is kind of no man's land. There are really great cars for much less (BRZ, 320i) and much more (M235i, S5)

Base 428i would just be key and a heater, I'd get a 320i, or if they would bring it over 420i.

Manual G8 GXP. They go for around the mid to upper 30's, so I'd pocket the rest. Or jump to the new SS, which is around 43K.

Yeah, kind of my point. Although what options do you really need on a BMW?
![]() 03/21/2014 at 23:12 |

That's true, but for 40k I would at least expect heated seats.

Not sure if I'll ever buy a new car again, but I do feel like I need to drive this:
"This is a car for crazy people..."
"This car is relentless," said Lago. "And it makes you relentless, too. You have no fear in this thing, just confidence."
It's a vehicle that's thoroughly engaging and highly organic in feel.

I figure you could probably negotiate for the Cold Weather Package ($750) and walk away for $41k.
No BMW on the lot is going to come like that though. It's hard enough to find one with a manual, much less one without tons of expensive options.

Yeah, pretty much one of these. They occasionally come up for under 40k.

dunno if that'll work, but the best mustang gt for 35-1/2k with enough budget left over for racist bits.

I forgot about the Caddy. I was trying to come up with who still offered manual transmissions: Mercedes, no. Lexus, no. Infiniti, no.

I would want to wait until the new mustang comes out but for now I would have this. I went over by $315 but that was because I added heated seats which is just a want of mine and if it came down to it I could leave them.

Mine too. The dealership I worked for had an R/T in this color. I test drove it as often as I could. One day a couple came in driving a 2012 CRV. I was so excited when they said they wanted to test drive the red Durango. It was probly the easiest sale I've ever made. I even nicknamed it Clifford the Big Red Dodge, and they still call it by the nickname.

I just can't believe that in one generation it went from this abomination to that beautiful beast.

I know right? It's one of the main reasons my view of Chrysler as a whole flip flopped in the last year.

They definitely came back from the bankruptcy swinging. Now that they've killed off or majorly overhauled any car being made prior to Fiat, I have nothing but positive things to say about them.

used v70R for about 25k. use the remaining cash for a kickass motorcycle

Well they still have a few months left of the current 200 and Avenger lol. In the 11 months that I sold Chryslers I never sold a single Avenger. I did sell o 200s though. One was an Auburn brown 200 Limited with the 3.6 v6 it actually was a nice car for the price range.

A used 1990 ZR-1 in red . Red and MY1990 are non-negotiable. Extra money goes toward beater car for snow days, probably a pickup truck or a Wrangler.

I'd go for the MK7 golf R when it comes out.
Manual, no options whatsoever.

Working on the presumption that I get a $41k car, and not $41k, must buy a car can pocket the rest - Nissan 370Z with sport and touring packages. Sadly, the NISMO edition starts at $43k - just outside the price limit.
